A field sobriety test – like walking in a straight line or following the police officer's pen back and forth with your eyes – is not enough evidence to convict you for drunk driving. But it can give the officer "probable cause" to take you to the station and administer a breath test, urine test or blood test.
However, if you pass the field sobriety test with flying colors and the police officer takes you to the station anyway, your rights have been violated. How? Since you passed the test, the officer had no "probable cause" to take you to the station in the first place.
